Devised by a team of professionals who are constantly undergoing the latest trainings and certifications, these plans are designed with sustainability in mind. At DASH121, we envision a lifetime of good health for every client who walks through the door, and instead of drastic, intimidating methods and fads that are quick to burn out, we bring clients along on a nutrition and fitness journey that focuses on gradual change and celebrates every milestone, large and small. Strength, balance and flexibility are a focus, and it’s easy to live your life to the fullest when you’re feeling your best. Laura George
Vice President of Operations and Sales

Laura believes that there are two things in life that we have no control over and can’t change – the day we are born and the day we die – but that we can change how we live our dash (the time in between). She has been a personal trainer and health coach for 30 years, and she specializes in behavior change programming, fitness nutrition, nutrition counseling, special population and obesity, sports performance enhancement, group personal training, weight loss and women-specialized programs.

DASH121 has been in the works for a long time. Laura and her husband opened the Training Sensation in 1989, the first business of its kind in the state. With a staff of more than 25 personal trainers, it brought customized fitness plans to New Mexico long before they became more widespread and popular. In 2003, they created The Challenge New Mexico, a community program that helped thousands of people reclaim their health through a supportive fitness competition. DASH121 builds on the foundation laid by both the Training Sensation and Challenge New Mexico, and takes the personalization and community-oriented approach to the next level.

DASH121’s mission is to provide sustainable, customized health and fitness programming in an upscale, spa-like environment, and to set clients up for a lifetime of success. Health is a journey, not a destination, and at DASH121, each client’s specific needs and experiences are taken into account when devising their regimens. Personal training, nutrition coaching and meal planning, primary care, skin rejuvenation and hormone balancing are all available, making DASH121 a one-stop-shop for all things necessary for a balanced, beautiful and thriving body.

Laura’s certifications include ACE-Health Coach (American Council on Exercise), and personal training certifications from ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), NCCPT (National Council for Certified Personal Trainers) and TRX TeamTM.  Married for over 37 years, Laura has two adult children and a rescue puppy named Fitbit, and is guided each day by her deep faith in God and her passion to help people make positive changes in their lives.

Meet the Team

Mona Hamill, ACE-CPT

Mona Hamill, an ACE-CPT certified personal trainer, is dedicated to building relationships with each of her DASH121 clients and coaching them based on their unique individual needs. She believes that these relationships allow for better accountability and lead to positive changes for the clients.

She coaches with a focus on the balance between body, mind and spirit, and teaches clients to listen to their bodies and practice kindness toward themselves. She coaches and motivate clients in an environment where goals are heard, nurtured and achieved producing lifetime results.

She became a personal trainer after seeing the positive results of exercise in her own life. She turned to the gym for therapy when she was going through a rough time, and realized the emotional and mental benefits of exercise. She pursued her personal training certifications in order to share that aspect of staying active.

Her favorite thing about working with clients: seeing their confidence in themselves and their abilities grow over time. It’s priceless!

Outside of fitness, Mona enjoys spending time with her three children and her pets, seeing live music and cooking. Her favorite healthy snacks are avocados, pistachios & blueberries.

Max Ledson

Max Ledson has always had a passion for fitness. She’s been involved in sports her whole life, and to keep working with athletes and with people who constantly want to improve themselves is why she wanted to become a personal trainer.

Before joining the team at DASH121, Max has worked with all age groups, from college athletes to residents at retirement homes. She studied kinesiology at the University of Alabama and continues to pursue certifications in the field of personal training.

DASH121’s hyper-personalized model suits Max’s unique skill set well. She loves working with clients at all ability levels, and he enjoys the challenge and excitement of getting to know each person and customizing a fitness plan that suits them.

Outside of fitness, she loves to cook, spend time with her puppy at the park, do yard work and hike in the mountains.

She believes that the greatest benefit to living a healthy and fit lifestyle is knowing there are very few things in life that she can’t do. Having the strength, energy and flexibility is what gives her the opportunity to do the things she loves.

Her favorite healthy snacks are carrots and hummus and apples and peanut butter. 

Joseph Scarano

Joseph Scarano brings a wide range of experience and expertise to his role at DASH121. In addition to being a certified personal trainer, Joseph is also a corrective and functional exercise specialist, a neuromuscular therapist and a clinical massage therapist.

 Joseph was inspired to work in the world of fitness after his own recovery from an accident, experiencing first-hand the power of taking health seriously.

 Outside of working with clients, he enjoys cooking, writing and playing video games, and his favorite healthy snacks are apples, kiwis, mandarins and spring mix.
